Marketing Liverpool will be hitting the road over the next few months selling the City Region’s tourism offer and 2018 event highlights at key European locations.
Here we will be working with our tourism partners, targeting the travel trade audience and the city’s 2018 events programme will provide the perfect platform to showcase our fantastic tourism offer and new product.
In February at Visit Britain’s Explore GB in Newcastle we’ll be meeting with over sixty key international tour operators over a two day period. The pre scheduled meetings are similar to speed dating and an excellent way to develop a host of new contacts for potential new business within a short time frame. Liverpool hosted this event to great acclaim in 2016 at ACC Liverpool and Liverpool Cathedral.
In March at the British Tourism and Travel Show, NEC Birmingham we’ll have a very strong presence with our own exhibition stand plus nine partners from across the city region including Liverpool FC, National Museums Liverpool, Port Sunlight Village and Land Rover Experience.
ITB Berlin is a massive exhibition and in March we will be a partner on the Visit Britain stand. This is the first time for several years we have attended this and we expect a great deal of interest in the City Region. Germany is a key market for us going forward in the forthcoming DEF campaign.
Working alongside Liverpool John Lennon Airport in April we will provide destination support at the Routes exhibition in Bilbao. This is a key date in the global aviation industry – where airlines meet airports and suppliers in a bid to meet and do business in order to secure new air routes.
